The Enduring Power of Prayer at Ancient Shiloh
God Still Answers Prayer — and Kamesh Flynn Was There to Witness It
Earlier this year, NWoP founder Kam had the remarkable privilege of travelling to ancient Shiloh — the very ground where Hannah knelt and cried out to God over 3,000 years ago. She was featured in a CBN News report that captured what happened when a small group of believers stood on that sacred land and prayed.
The experience left a lasting mark.
"What I realise is that the same God that Hannah prayed to then is the God we serve now. And it's unmistakable — when you stand on the land where she prayed, you feel the sense of the Holy Spirit."
But perhaps the most unexpected moment came through her 10-year-old son, who turned to her mid-prayer and said: "Mom, I think I was saved right then when we were praying."
The report also tells the story of a woman from Miami who prayed at Shiloh 32 years ago for a baby boy — and nine months later, gave birth to a son she named Samuel. Years later, her son's wife returned to that same ground and prayed for a boy and a girl. Both were born. Two generations of answered prayer, on the same soil.
Archaeology confirms it. Scripture records it. And people are still experiencing it today.
As Kam put it: "I implore you to bring your requests. Make them known to a God who is living and breathing and as alive and willing to answer them as he was 3,000 years ago today."
That is the heartbeat of National Week of Prayer — the conviction that God has not changed, that He still hears, and that He still answers.
